I'm a huge fan of TG. I have the highest respect and admiration for him and I enjoy his books and podcasts. I'm sure I will read anything he writes, but there's one glaring error in this book. On page 183, in the next to last sentence on the page, TG writes, "...until around the time Columbus discovered America." It infuriates me that someone as otherwise intelligent and enlightened would write or believe such a myth. Columbus discoverd NOTHING, and never came close to America, at least North Ameica. If you mean "the Americas" then say so. Still, when CC brought his disease-ridden sailors to the islands he did visit, there were already ancient civilizations living there. I expected a higher level of cultural awareness from my hero TG. Tim Gunn is funny and witty and I enjoy his writings about the world of fashion and his "Gunn Laws" on clothing today.
